| Keno History |
The game of keno is believed to have come from the Chinese way back in 200 B.C. The game was made to raise funds for the building of the Great Wall. It was so popular that even remote villages joined the game, and results were sent to these villages through courier pigeons.
In those ancient times, the numbers of the keno board is not as simple as it is now. If today we have 80 numbers on a keno board, ancient China has 120. Eventually, as it grew more popular, the number even increased up to more than a thousand!

Rumors say that Chinese railroad workers who migrated to the United States brought the game with them in the 19th century. Back then, keno was more popularly known as the "Chinese Lottery."
Right from the onset of Vegas casinos, the game was included in the game repertoire. But instead of calling it as the "Chinese Lottery," casinos called it Keno, from the Latin roots meaning "five." The simplicity of the game attracted people, but its lottery-like nature (with players able to choose numbers) made people love the game.
With the advent of online gambling, keno was one of the games adopted for an online version. The reason for this could be simple: keno is much more exciting than simple bingo or lottery, and the ability to draw true random numbers via a computer algorithm just leads itself to the efficient translation of this game.
