| Video Poker History |
|
Video poker's history is closely related to the history of Slots machines. Sittman and Pitt developed the first Slots machines in 1891. Later on, the machine excluded the cards of ten and jack of spades because it was creating a difficulty in completing straights in poker hands. Earlier, if a player won a poker hand he was awarded with cigars or drinks.
In 1899, Charles Fey invented the renowned Liberty bell Slot machine. This machine replaced the symbols of playing cards with horseshoes, bells, spades and hearts instead of Kings, jacks and Queens. In this game, gamblers had to strike a defined number of symbols for a payout rather than a winning combination of poker hands. Since many years, hands of poker did not existed on any Slot machine.

Walt Fraley made use of the new technology and because of his efforts; first ever-video slot was inaugurated in the city of Las Vegas, during the year of 1975. These machines too failed in terms of popularity. Players had no trust in the results of money of this machine, as they were unaware of the real wheels that spin inside the machine.
A dynamic change of Video Slot emerged because of video poker. IGT Company (formerly recognized as SIRCOMA) set up the new invention of Draw Poker in the year of 1979. It was enormously famous and enhanced the belief of the players in the game of slots. It made use of a similar technology and did not opt for rotating reels instead.
